CHURCH MISSION STATEMENT:
We will allow God's love in our lives to communicate
the Gospel of Jesus Christ through word and deed.
The history of our church begins with
it's organization on August 6, 1944.
One hundred seventeen people
had letters in hand and stood together,
reading and adopting the church covenant.
(Our last charter member passed away in 2008.)
Following the morning worship service,
nine people were received upon profession of faith.
In March 1947, the church adopted the present name of
"First Baptist Church of Jacinto City".
The first building, now generally referred to as the Church Office,
was finished the latter part of 1945.
This original building continues to include a
Worship Center where a Hispanic Congregation,
Iglesia Bautista Resurreccion, holds Sunday services.
In August 1951, on our 7th anniversary,
we entered our second building, the Sanctuary.
The Educational Building was completed in June 1965
and includes classrooms and a nursery
for infants and children through the age of three.
The Christian Family Life Center (CFLC) was completed in July 1986.
The CFLC has a full size gym where basketball,
vollyball and other events are held frequently.
There are excellent kitchen facilities which allow us
to enjoy many fellowships together.
Classrooms are on the 2nd floor.
The use of the "United We Build" building fund program
allowed us to renovate and update the sanctuary
which was completed in time for our church's 50th anniversary.
We have now celebrated our 63rd year and look forward to,
under God's leadership, many years in the future.
